Welcome to Fightin’ Phils, a blog dedicated to my thoughts, analysis and sometimes rants on the Philadelphia Phillies.  One of the things I love about baseball is that there is no “right” way to watch or analyze a game.  Some prefer to take a more statistical approach to break down the game, while others would rather let their eyes tell them the story.  I tend to combine the two.  I think that numbers can tell you a lot — who’s hot/cold, how a player should perform in the future, etc. — but I also believe there is more to the game of baseballs than numbers and formulas.  That is, after all, why they play the game. 

In my opinion, no other sport offers the day-in and day-out highs and lows that baseball does, a dynamic that often leads to discussion and debate.  Hopefully you will enjoy my insights and discuss the Fightin’s with me.
